Testing and assessment

Testing Schedule

 

Each term, students undergo a variety of formal tests to measure and monitor progress and identify possible support requirements. The following tests are conducted to measure each student’s performance in key learning areas:

 
  • Pat R – Reading comprehension – Years 3-6
  • Pat M- Mathematics – Years 2–6
  • Pat S – Science – Years 3–6
  • Probe – Reading – Years 3–6
  • PM Benchmarks – Prep – Year 2
  • Single Word Spelling Test – Years 2-6

 

A range of assessment tasks are also administered by the class teacher at various times throughout each term to provide feedback to the students on progress been made and to gauge future teaching and learning needs.

Reporting overview

Parents are encouraged to request interviews with their child’s class teacher at any time to discuss any issues that may arise.  Interviews can be arranged by contacting the school office. The following table shows when and how reports are issued to parents by teachers.
