At Undurba, we ‘aim
for the best’ by ensuring we provide high quality curriculum programs, safe
and supportive learning environments and develop collaborative partnerships
between the school and community. Our goal is to foster a love of learning in
our students by assisting them to set personal goals and celebrating their
successes.
We teach, assess and report across all Key Learning Areas, in
accordance with the Australian Curriculum, including English, Maths, Science,
HASS (Humanities and Social Sciences), Technology (Digital and Design), Health
and Physical Education, and The Arts (Music, Drama, Dance, Visual Arts). Our Year
5 and 6 students also participate in LOTE with Spanish as the focus language. We
also encourage our students to participate in extra-curricular activities, such
as aerobics competitions, other sporting and cultural events, and academic
programs, such as SciConnect, ICAS competitions and the Premier’s Reading
Challenge.
The pedagogical framework at Undurba reflects our vision of
empowering students to achieve their full potential. To accomplish this, we
have established consistent routines and procedures across our whole school,
such as our FRED (Focussed Reading Every Day) and NED (Numeracy Every Day)
frameworks, to ensure we are meeting our students learning needs. Undurba’s
signature ePAW Digital Technology program enables out students to be capable 21st
century learners and access contemporary technology as tools to enhance learning.
Our Positive Behaviour for Learning and Reboot programs also ensure the
learning environment is safe and supportive so that precious learning time is
not missed managing behaviour. The Reboot program supports students to have a
growth mindset and embrace learning.
